Joe O’Donnell

Joe is the newest member of the team here at JT Physiotherapy.  He studied Physiology and Health Science at IT Carlow before moving onto Manchester to study Physiotherapy at The University of Salford, graduating with a first class honours in 2016.

Since qualifying, Joe has been working in both the NHS and private practice around Manchester.  He completed 3 6 month rotations at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as a band 5 Physiotherapist through Orthopaedic in-patients, Surgery and Critical Care and Paediatric MSK Out patients.  He then moved onto Bridgewater NHS trust in Wigan where he worked in MSK Out patients for 6 months before moving on and working in private practice full time for 6 months at Prosport Physiotherapy in Huddersfield.  Joe learned a great deal working with the England rugby league head physio Dave O’Sullivan in Huddersfield before obtaining a specialist MSK physiotherapist role at Bolton NHS and worked there as a senior physio before returning home to Donegal to work at JT Physio in December.

Joe enjoys staying active and has a particular interest in gym based exercise such as powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting.  He also does some running and walking and completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in the Summer and is training for a half marathon next Summer.

Joe has completed a number of post graduate training courses such as running resiliency with Greg Lehman, the shoulder theory and practice with Jeremy Lewis, lower limb tendinopathies with Seth O’Neil, and the Prosport Physiotherapy therapist mentorship programme with Dave O’Sullivan.
