We would like to say a big Thank You to Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure, who have kindly sponsored new lightweight training hoodies for the RunWell Athletes.

Earlier this week, Michael Murphy presented the new JOMA training tops to Lead Physio Johnny Loughrey and two of the RunWell athletes, Danny Mooney and Natasha Adams.

Johnny Loughrey said: “We’re delighted with the new RunWell training tops from Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure. They’re really light and comfortable which makes them perfect for training. We’d like to thank Michael and the team for getting behind the athletes and sponsoring the tops. Preparations for the winter season are in full swing and the athletes are looking forward to a busy few months.’

The JT Physio RunWell athletes achieved a record performance at the 2015 Donegal Marathon. Coached by Teresa McDaid, Natasha Adams (Letterkenny AC) won gold in the women’s category with a course record and placed second overall. Natasha’s RunWell partners, Conor Bradley (City of Derry AC) won silver and Danny Mooney (Letterkenny AC) won bronze. While RunWell athlete Anne-Marie McGlynn (Letterkenny AC), who has been recovering from injury, placed third overall and first in the women’s category in the Donegal Grand Prix Milford 10k a few weeks ago. RunWell athlete and Finn Valley AC runner Teresa Mc Gloin has also had a great season placing second in the Armagh International 3K earlier this year.

The RunWell Clinic is a weekly class that takes place at JT Physiotherapy, focusing on injury prevention and improving the mobility of runners, cyclists and triathletes. Class numbers are kept to a minimum to ensure that each participant gets the individual attention they require. The RunWell Clinic also incorporates yoga type multi joint stretches, myofascial release techniques and provides training on how to correctly use tools such as mobility bands and foam rollers.  The team behind the clinic consists of Chartered Physiotherapists and a Sport’s Scientist and during the session participants learn how to use certain tools and techniques to help improve movement in joints and muscles.

Pictured below are Lead Physio Johnny, Michael Murphy and RunWell Athletes Danny Mooney and Natasha Adams.  Absent from the pictures are athletes Conor Bradley, Teresa Doherty and Ann-Marie Mc Glynn.
