Johnny Loughrey

Chartered Physiotherapist

Johnny attained his BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown in 2009 and completed his Masters (MSc) Sport’s Physiotherapy in University College Dublin in 2016.  In addition to his academic accolades, Johnny has extensive physiotherapy experience in both public and private settings.

Having moved to Australia in 2010, Johnny spent two years working in a Specialist Head Neck and Jaw Clinic located in Brisbane. This afforded him the opportunity to work closely with a number of the industry’s leading practitioners, thus developing a unique and forward thinking approach to treatment and rehabilitation.

He has continued his professional development by completing further studies in areas such as Running and Cycling Biomechanics, Headache and Migraine, TMJ Dysfunction, Dry Needling, Kinesio-Taping, Pilates, Bowen Therapy and Strength and Conditioning.

Johnny’s approach to physiotherapy is very exercise based. He encourages self-maintenance and self-management; ensuring patients leave the clinic with the tools they require to prevent their complaints reoccurring.

‘My aim is to get someone from point A to point B; point B being a fitter, healthier, pain-free and happier you. Improving strength, joint mobility and exercise capacity is not just for elite athletes. Everyone out there can experience an improved quality of life when they take control of their health and maximise their potential. It just takes prioritising, focused effort and perseverance. Know what you want and more importantly, why you want it. This will help you stay on track when you hit a speed- bump in terms of sticking with your exercise program, whatever it may be.’

Johnny also has a passion for dealing with chronic rheumatological disorders combining a physiotherapeutic approach with Bowen Therapy and Pilates to give patients suffering from conditions such as Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome relief from their symptoms and helping them take control of their life.
